Risk management is the identification, assessment, and prioritization of risks followed by coordinated and economical application of resources to minimize, monitor, and control the probability and/or impact of unfortunate events.

WE PROVIDE OBJECTIVE EVALUATIONS AND TRAINING IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

RISK MANAGEMENT
-PHYSICAL SECURITY OF PERIMETER - This is one of the most overlooked aspects of a security program. Whether it’s an inside or outside threat, unauthorized physical access to your property can cause irreparable harm to your organization. Some of the things we will evaluate are:

          -Quality of security measures (locks on windows, doors, etc);

          -Camera coverage of blind spots inside and outside of building;

          -Internal physical security;

          -Lighting;

- SAFETY LIABILITY - You, as a property owner (or non-owner resident), are responsible for maintaining a relatively safe environment. The legal theory of premises liability holds property owners and residents liable for accidents and injuries that occur on that property. Some of the things we will evaluate are:

          -The condition of the property as regards to safety for yourself, your employees and the general public;

          -Appropriate fences around pools;

          -Additional safety violations;

-COMPUTER AND NETWORK SECURITY - We will examine your systems for weaknesses that could be exploited, and to determine the chances of someone attacking any of those weaknesses. We look at these possibilities:

          -Physical attack on a system (the possibility that someone has access to physically attack and destroy
                 your computers and network systems or walk away with data );

          -Electronic attack on a system (host and network level);

          -The vast majority of physical and electronic attacks are inside jobs. We will look at your procedures for
                 access and control to determine best practices for your system;

-WORKPLACE VIOLENCE - Violence or the threat of violence against workers can occur in or outside the workplace. Workplace violence can range from threats and verbal abuse to stalking, physical assaults, and in the worst case, homicide, one of the leading causes of job-related deaths. We will provide:

          -Safety and security education for employees so they know what conduct is not acceptable, or in violation
                  of company policy. We will also educate them on - what to do, personally and legally - if they witness
                  or are subjected to workplace violence, and how to protect themselves in either case (see SELF
                  DEFENSE below).

-NEGLIGENT RETENTION - An employer is liable for the wrongful conduct of its employees in the performance of company work and during company time. If the employer was negligent or reckless in hiring, supervising, retaining or otherwise training the employee, they could be subject to legal action from other employees, clients or the general public. Particularly if the employer retains the employee after a record of misconduct has been documented.

          -Evaluation of your discipline policies;

-HIRING PRACTICE – A company that does not think strategically about hiring could miss out on the best candidates, fail to hire a diverse workforce or worse - expose itself to liability for discriminatory hiring practices. We will provide:

          -Evaluation criteria for hiring and firing employees;

          -Evaluation of company job descriptions;

          -Review of company’s job applications (written or online);

          -Evaluation of interview techniques;

          -Background checks on employee candidates and the use of those checks;

-WORKMAN’S COMPENSATION EVALUATION - We will investigate fraud, liability and compliance within the workers' compensation system to ensure compliance with the Workers' Compensation Act. We will:

          -Investigate suspected workers compensation fraud cases should the validity of the claim be in question
                 or if there’s evidence that alcohol or drugs, or negligence may have been a factor in the employee
                 submitting the claim;

         -Investigate unscrupulous providers (billing for services that were not rendered, prescribing unnecessary
                 drugs or treatment, or falsifying a diagnosis);

         -Investigate injured worker fraud or abuse - whether the injuries reported indeed exist, whether they were
                 injured somewhere besides while claiming the injury was job related, doing "inappropriate activities", and
                 finally, working a job while drawing time-loss for disability;

          -Investigate employer fraud or abuse (not reporting any or all employees and therefore getting a "free
                 ride" on insurance at the expense of other employers, reporting fewer hours than the employees
                 have actually worked, etc);

BACKGROUND CHECKS – We will look up and compile criminal records, commercial records and financial records of an individual or an organization. Background checks are often requested by employers on job candidates for employment screening, especially on candidates seeking a position that requires high security or a position of trust.

          -Pre-employment and pre-promotion – We will investigate the backgrounds of potential employees and
                 verify the accuracy of the applicant's claims (as regards to education, certification and work experience.
                 We will also investigate to discover any possible criminal history, workers compensation claims, or
                 employer sanctions.

BASIC SELF-DEFENSE – It is the company’s responsibility to provide a relatively safe working environment to its employees. As noted above, workplace violence is a very real danger to companies and is on the rise. This violence is often predictable and avoidable. It is a matter of situational awareness and communication. The most effective self-defense is avoidance and awareness. However, in the worst case scenario when a physical attack is imminent or in progress, some simple skills are all that are needed for people to defend themselves. In our self-defense seminars we teach:

          -Situational awareness, avoidance, criminal predator/victim behavior patterns, de-escalation and the
                  psychology of violent attacks and crimes;

          -Should avoidance fail and a physical response is required, we teach convulsive and instinctive
                  responses which are universal in nature and are skill sets that everyone has at their disposal. No
                  need to train for years to be able to effectively defend yourself and get to safety.
